A family affair

“I think this might be the one Heidi!”

Will I ever forget those immortal words? We are back in October 2005, continuing our search for the restaurant premises we have talked about opening for a long time.

My name is Heidi and Diego Da Re, my husband, has been working in kitchens around Europe for the past 20yrs after finishing catering college in the Italian Alps near his home in the Veneto region of North Eastern Italy. I met Diego in 1996 whilst we were both living and working in London. Diego was working as a chef within the Conran Company. I was a primary school teacher.

Diego has an inherent passion for good food instilled by his family from his very earliest years. What he also does brilliantly, is bring flavours together, often quite simply, to produce delicious, unpretentious, seasonal food.

We picked up the keys to the restaurant in Clifton Village, Bristol in September 2006 and began the big refit to make Prosecco a reality, opening our doors on the 8th November 2006.

We have had many favourable reviews, and, more importantly to us, we are building a good local reputation for consistently providing fresh, delicious and authentic Italian food, in warm friendly surroundings.

As time rolls on so does our growing family, including the members of staff who we would like to thank for their hard work and dedication, all an integral part of the Prosecco team. There is still little time for reflection, but we hope you can join us for a taste of Prosecco very soon.
